Kaleisha helps him out, but then the two decide to learn about ways to make sure that sort of thing doesn't happen to other animals. I can’t wait to meet her parents, especially having seen what her brother was like when he was the center of a mystery. She seems a little reticent to get into a relationship, but it’s getting better. Lindsey is a great character, full of fun and surprise. The book has ~10 in the series so far and often focuses on books and libraries as part of the mystery thrills. She’s inherited an interesting group of employees at the new library, plus she’s falling for a few of the people who live around town. In addition, each baby animal is referred to by its correct name, so kids get used to hearing those terms. Also, alongside the main story there are frogs who make crowns of the different colored flowers on each page and hitch a ride on the truck. The illustrations are beautiful, very colorful and full of little details like a mouse hiding in the barn. ![]() Each page has a different kind of animal, with their baby animals under the flap. I like that each book in the series is a little different - this one is an open-the-flap book. We've been reading it multiple times every day since then and he takes it to bed with him at night. My 3 year old grandson loves these books, so of course I had to buy him this one for Easter. ![]() |
